Simple Kidney Cysts

Simple Kidney Cysts
A cyst is a closed pocket or pouch of tissue that can form anywhere in the body. Cysts can be filled with air or fluid. Cysts that form on the kidneys usually contain fluid. One or more cysts may develop on small tubes in the kidneys. The simple kidney cyst is different from the cysts that develop when a person has polycystic kidney disease, which is a genetic disease. Although its cause is not fully understood, the simple cyst is not an inherited condition. Simple kidney cysts become more common as people age. Nearly 30 percent of people over the age of 70 have at least one simple kidney cyst.
Most often, simple cysts do not cause symptoms or harm the kidney. In some cases, however, pain can occur when cysts enlarge and press on other organs. Sometimes cysts become infected or suddenly start to bleed. Less often the cysts impair kidney function. People with simple cysts are often found to have high blood pressure, although the cause-and-effect relationship is not well understood.
Kidney cysts are found by taking pictures of the kidneys using computerized tomography (CT) scans and ultrasonography. When simple cysts are found but no complications are present, no treatment is needed.
If cysts cause symptoms, treatment may be needed. One procedure involves puncturing the cyst using a long needle inserted through the skin. The doctor uses ultrasonography to guide the needle to the cyst. The cyst is drained and then filled with a solution containing alcohol to make the tissue harder.
If the cyst is large, surgery may be needed. Most procedures can be performed using a laparoscope, which allows for a smaller incision and quicker recovery. The surgeon drains the cyst then removes or burns away its outer tissue. Most patients stay in the hospital 1 or 2 days.

Anna movement in India

It has been a practice since independance of India, that from offering tea in lieu of favours done to somebody, it has come to offering some money. In earlier days people used to make the offerings out of their own free will. This was a part of social courtsey. But now it has become customary, rather mendatory to offer money.
Anna Hazare, the veteran activist is observing this and similar malpractices in the society for a long time. He was very well aware that the common man is suffering due to this. He formed a team of like minded and wise people like Mr. Kejriwal,Ms. Kiran Bedi, Renowned advocates The Bhushans, both father and son. Annaji started a social movement.
He is a true follower of Gandhiji. He does not have any taint on his image. He knows very well that in order to achieve a great objective the path of Ahimsa is the only path to tread on. Nobody had imagined that this movement will attract the entire India. This reflects that the nation is terribly anguished by currupt practices all over the country. More so the recent revelatios of alleged misuse of a huge amount of public money by certain politicians, added fuel to the fire of rage.

Annaji is on fast. Nobody could imagine that this movement would gather such an overwhelming responce. It is rather astonishing to see that the entire movement is non violent. The forces that are resisting the Jan loke Pal Bill, should realise that it is the peoples mendate. Sooner or later the bill will have to be introduced. The Anna team knows that mere introduction of the bill is not going be enough. Its implementation is eqally important.
The bills will not be effective unless the people enforce it in their day to day practice.Anna's fast is crossing the eight day. His urine and blood are showing ketone bodies. This is alrming situation. May good sense prevail. The Govt. will have to take concrete and sincere efforts to deal with the situation speedily and effectively, lest it is too late and people's movement take an ugly turn.
I prey for Anna's long life.

Thought of the day

Beauty is beauty only when it is appreciated,

Knowledge is knowledge when it is useful for self and shared,

Wisdom is wisdom when it is used wisely,

MIND SET – Part 2 of 2

To answer the above queries sufficient reasoning and logical power has to be developed. This comes through meditation. Pranayam is a method which is most important tool for Mind setting.  The process of Pranayam is different from breath holding. Though in Pranayam breath holding is an important constituent, but it is something more than that. In Pranayam the breath holding is for a short time. Some people argue that breath holding leads to transient ischemia in brain. True, this may occur if it is done for a longer period. But if Pranayam is learnt from an expert and properly practiced, it is rather beneficial. Now I shall elaborate this process of setting your mind through Pranayam Yoga.
This is an old method practiced by the Rishis, monies, warriors and thus everybody. The performer squats with spine straight up. The arms are stretched and the three fingers are folded. The thumb and index fingers are folded in such a way that their tips touch each other to make letter O. The three fingers are then opened and kept in straight stretched position. The fingers are placed on both the knees.  The head is held high and stretched. Both the eyes are closed. A complete blankness is felt. With the eyes closed, the mind is set in such a way that full concentration is fixed between the two eyebrows. A deep breath is taken, the breath is held for a moment. Then slowly the breath is exhaled. With the eyes closed this process is repeated three or four times. During this time individual concentrates on the problem or subject about which the mind has to be set. With regular practice one learns to be cut off from the external environment and the mind starts setting on the subject in question.
This posture is known as Kamal Asana or Lotus Asana. The importance of this Asana is that it puts your body, mind and soul in a state of complete discipline, which is very important for meditation.  When you are not speaking then you hear a voice within you. This is thought process and is controlled by your thought centre. You attain a stage where you are mentally cut of from the surroundings.
In the stage of strategic planning you need to perform SWOT analysis. In this you judge your strengths, weaknesses, obstacles and threats. In case you are not reaching any conclusion, you might be lacking something in the knowledge of the subject. You might need counseling or advice. The mind has to be set on some target or goal. Once the goal is set then only you can try to set your mind.
Mind setting is a process of practice and learning through personal experiences or having knowledge of personal experiences of others. But in all eventualities one should be under an aura of positive energy. Yes I can do it attitude is a must for positivity. Keep in mind the environment around or the place where you live, times of events around, the people around and culture of the people around.

MIND SET – Part 1 of 2

Human mind is a complex organ. It has a great power to receive the information, to store and process the data and send instructions to act as per the needs of the body part or organ for action. For example, there is a simple prick on the finger, the information is sent to the higher centers, it is interpreted and the information is sent via the motor nervous system that the finger be removed from the site of prick. If required the order is given to the other parts of the body to assist in this task. This is one simple mechanism.
Thus there are three types of such systems namely:
1 The Sympathetic Nervous System
2 The Para Sympathetic Nervous System
3 The Autonomic Nervous System

Cosmetic Surgery in India

India is a land of mixed cultures. While life in metros is trying to keep pace with the international community, life in other cities and towns lacks in many newer facilities. Life style in metros is a lot different, and so are thier needs With the growing sense of having good looks, cosmetic medicine and surgery is picking up business opportunities. Thus many centres are opening and they are competing with each other to attract the clients. Not only western systems of meddicine are creeping in,but even Indian systems are advocating their supremacy over others. Whether it is herbal system or non herbal, in any case one must ensure as to who is treating and who is being treated.

Asense of looking good is prevailing in humans probably since the dawn of civilisation. It is not bad or sin. But the medicines are to be prepared in accordance with the priciples already laid down. But unfortunately the required precautionary measures are not being addhered to. With the result instead of a lot of harm is done. I always advise my patients to understand the proceedures. The treating physician, whether he/she opts for medical or surgical measures for the patient will definetly counsel before starting the therapy.

If you are going to unqualified or less qualified person you may be harmed instead. Therefore I always advice my patients to understand the therapy espacially the laser and other surgical treatments before the start of treatment.

Anti corruption movement in India Part -3

The various financial irregularities made in the form of scams were being tried by PUC then after JPC. Both these committees have proven to be lacking in their spheres of covering all affected persons. Now the introduction of LokPal being is being kept in waiting for the last 42 years.
People want a corruption free nation. Anna Hazare and his committee feel that LokPal Bill is the solution. If enforced with good intentions, the bill may prove to be of some use. But it is said that all is fair in politics. The political parties run on donations. The major portion of funds of political parties comes from corporate houses. They will definitely expect some sort of favor. Similarly wherever and whenever individual members of civil society will demand favors, the element of money consideration will creep in.
Nevertheless if entire power will go in the hands of one member of civil society, will it not be a sort of Anarchy? Instead of that, will it not be better to entrust these powers to the President? Let us see what shape the bill takes and how forcefully it is implemented? The motive behind the entire movement is not less important.

Anti corruption movement in India Part -2

The entire nation is supporting the movement. Even the political parties agree to it.

No political leadership admits that it is corrupt. All agree that elected leaders are peoples' representatives.
They say this is a premature movement. Why don't the politicians realise that this an emergency situation.
The bill in question will be binding not only on the government but also on the people. Then why they donot
agree to the legitimate and just demand of the people. Are they waiting for casualties vis-a-vis mutiny? One thing is sure that in India there is democracy and not anarchy.

Anti-corruption Movement in India Part-1

Under the Leadership of Shri Anna Hazare

India is a peace loving country.Since independence, due the systemic structure the economic corruption is becoming the order of the day.Nobody could gather courage to come forward and take the lead so that the suffering community at large could get relief. Now that leaders like Anna Hazare,Swami Ramdev, Kiran Bedi have dared to come forward, the major part of population is behind them. I hope that before start of the movement these Wise of the country might have well worked the strategy, so that the movement gives relief to the suffering masses. The movement will definitely gain the momentum. I shall like to give my view point :-

Well done India !

Well done India!

It is really a moment of pride that after a long long struggle, India could prepare a team of players under the captaincy of a balanced minded and cool captain. This a great achievement in many ways. The new generation is coming out of a culture of living in depression. Most of the players come from middle class townships and with a patriotic mindset.

It is noteworthy that the finals were reached by the teams of Asian subcontinent. The games were played with sportsman spirit. The element of hatred was missing. The players groomed themselves with limited resources that they could arrange.

Cricket Diplomacy

A historic event will it be called, when both the prime ministers of arch rivals, India and Pakistan had a dinner dialogue for improving relations of both the countries. There are sweet and sour memoirs of the great event. It is a commendable achievement, though. The Indian cricket fans are delighted at the much deserved victory of the Indian cricket team.

The Pakistan cricket team captain Shahid Afridi moved a step farther, when he asked the peoples,"When we see Indian movies, when we listen to Indian songs then why should we hate India?"
This should be taken as beginning of a new era. I have praise for such people. I shall add more to it. It is history now when British looted the wealth of Combined India, but even then we have good relations with that country, then why we India and Pakistan cannot rise to the occasion and diffuse the hatred in this part of subcontinent?Instead we both countries should put our energy in becoming  developed nations. The prosperity of a nation is not the birth right of the rich only. Unless the common masses get rich in education and health the nation cannot progress. I salute the Pakistani captain and hope and pray that more celebrates and religious personalities of both countries should come forward and make sincere efforts to make the atmosphere congenial.

I wish India win the final of the world cup and the cricketers should make efforts to improve the environment.

Jai Hind.

New year greetings

Since when born, many years rolled by
As the end of the year approaches,
There is time for introspection and evaluation.
The new year sun rises and brings
New jubilance, aspirations and resolutions.
The yester year's sweet and sour memoires
leave impressions engraved on the grey mater.
Lament not on what could not be got.
Count on what you could get.
Be clear on what you want
Sharpen the tools, replan with modifications.
In the light of experiences, execute
with fresh zeal and positivity.
Nobleness enkindlth nobleness.
May good sense prevail all around
for a peacefull and congenial enviornment on  the globe.
Wish a prosperous and happy new year
with a resolution to help making a healthy world.
